God is able & will, But if not . . .

Exo 20:1-6 a command by God to have no other gods/idols nor bow down to them.

Matt 4:10 Jesus quoted Moses law about idols.

In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were faced with a decree that King Nebuchadnezzar had established that they must bow and worship the gold image. However, their faith led them to be courageous!

Daniel 3:16

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.”

They had predetermined to obey God no matter what. They didn’t wait for the situation to arise to decide, they already knew without doubt or compromising that they were going to serve the only God. They knew who they believed!

Daniel 3:17-18

“If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.””

These three men knew who God was and were confident!

The question is . . .

Do you believe God will deliver you? You won’t always be unscathed, but you still will be delivered. * and deliverance could mean earthly death *

From these few verses there are 3 main points we can learn:

  1. It’s not wrong to imagine that faith will produce certain conditions in our life.

Faith couldn’t be the same if you already knew the outcome of every situation. We must have trust, hope, assurance, and faith!

1 Peter 5:6-7 cast your anxieties on Him. He cares.

  1. Faith in God doesn’t guarantee what God can do will be what He does do.

Look at Abel, Stephen, John. They were all killed somehow, yet God still delivered them.

The whole point of prayer is for us to align our hearts to His will!

1 John 5:14 God does hear us.

Isa 55:8-9 Gods ways & thoughts are so much higher than ours.

We must have the faith and strength to accept the outcome.

  1. True faith means we trust in God even if the conditions are different than we expected.

Even if it’s bad or good, we must trust God and lean on Him. God knows what’s best. Service to God is east when the outcome is good, but will you continue to serve even if the deliverance isn’t what we expect/ hoped for?

Predetermine in your mind to serve God no matter what. Have the faith to trust Him without doubt and accept whatever may be tide.
